Terms of Service & End User License Agreement

Effective: July 23, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the RouxDex iOS app, website, and related services (the “Service”), operated by Purplemoon (“we,” “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires parental consent, a parent or guardian must agree for you. You are responsible for your account, its credentials, and activity performed through it. Provide accurate information and promptly notify us of unauthorized access.

Limited license

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use RouxDex on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to the App Store Usage Rules. We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, branding, design, and original content. You may not reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, interfere with, or use the Service to build a competing dataset or product except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Your content and source material

You retain your rights in URLs, recipe edits, collection names, and other material you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and transform that material only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit it and that your use does not violate law, copyright, privacy, contract, or another person’s rights.

Third-party platforms, including Instagram

RouxDex is an independent product and is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or affiliated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, YouTube, or other source platforms. Those services have their own terms and can change or restrict access at any time. You are responsible for complying with a source platform’s rules and for having permission to access and process material you share. Do not use RouxDex to bypass access controls, scrape private content, or redistribute content unlawfully. We may disable a source integration or remove material when reasonably necessary.

AI, recipes, nutrition, and dietary information

RouxDex uses automated systems that can omit, misread, or invent information. Review every ingredient, measurement, cooking time, temperature, allergen, and food-safety instruction before cooking. Dietary labels are probabilistic indicators, not guarantees. Nutrition values are third-party estimates and are not medical advice or suitable for medical or dietary-restriction decisions. You assume responsibility for checking recipes against allergies, health needs, safe food handling, and appliance instructions.

Subscriptions

RouxDex Pro may be offered as an auto-renewing in-app subscription. The price and billing period appear before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; the subscription renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Apple handles billing, refunds, and applicable trials under its policies. Features and limits may change prospectively, but we will not reduce access during a prepaid period without providing an appropriate remedy where required by law.

Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to violate law or third-party rights; submit malicious code; probe or disrupt our systems; evade rate limits; automate abusive traffic; access another account; or process illegal, private, or harmful material. We may suspend or terminate access to protect users, third parties, or the Service.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service. Source-platform changes, network failures, maintenance, and other events can interrupt availability. We do not promise that every URL can be resolved or that stored data will always be available. You should retain original source links and any recipe information you cannot afford to lose.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Purplemoon will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

Termination

You may stop using RouxDex and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, security risk, unlawful conduct, or discontinued Service. Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions.

Apple terms

This agreement is between you and Purplemoon, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support and is not responsible for the Service or related claims. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for any available purchase-price refund; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.

Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your home jurisdiction still apply. Courts located in Illinois will have jurisdiction unless applicable law gives you another forum. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when appropriate, communicated in the app.
